Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
vivaldi, reimagined
Anno is an entertaining, surprising, utterly fresh experience of Vivaldiās Four Seasons for string orchestra and electronics. Written by composer/producer Anna Meredith, Anno intertwines sections from Vivaldi's hugely famous seasonal concerti with new electronic compositions.
Originally written as part of a cocooning, audio-visual live performance, enhanced and complemented by the quirky, beautiful visual art of Anna's sister, Eleanor Meredith, Anno has also been recorded, with the album released on Moshi Moshi Records on Fri 17 August 2018.
Anno was co-commissioned by Scottish Ensemble and Spitalfields Music.
the live show
Performed live, Anno is a feast for the ears and eyes; an absorbing, lingering experience of a year in an hour, from the awakening of spring, to the mournful intensity of summer, to the hushed darkness of winter.
